Edinburgh, 23rd June — Charlize, a year 8 here at Great Sankey High school and a rising star in the world of Taekwon-Do, has made her school and community proud with her remarkable performance at the World ITF Taekwon-Do Championships. Held in the historic city of Edinburgh, the event gathered young martial artists from around the globe, and Charlize stood out with her exceptional skill and dedication.
Competing in the 10-13 years female 1-2 dan categories, Charlize showcased her prowess across three challenging events. Her hard work and commitment were evident as she achieved the following accolades:
- Bronze Medal in the 10-13 years female 1-2 dan patterns: Demonstrating precision and grace, Charlize earned third place in this category, which focuses on the execution of choreographed patterns that reflect the fundamentals of Taekwon-Do techniques.
- Silver Medal in the 10-13 years female 1-2 dan 140-160cm sparring: In a display of agility and tactical skill, Charlize secured second place in sparring, a competitive event that tests speed, strategy, and combat skills against opponents of similar height and age.
- Gold Medal in the 10-13 years female 1-2 dan special techniques (flying high kicks): Charlize's exceptional talent in special techniques earned her the top spot. Her mastery of flying high kicks, which require both athleticism and precision, impressed the judges and secured her the gold medal
