Red Nose Day at Great Sankey High School was a soaking success as the much-anticipated Sponge the Teacher challenge made its triumphant return! Students gathered in huge numbers, eager to take aim at their teachers – with members of SLT also in the firing line!

For just £1, students had the chance to throw three sponges at their 'favourite' teachers, and they certainly made every throw count! Laughter echoed across the school grounds as teachers braved the barrage, all in the name of charity. KS3 students proved to have particularly impressive aim, ensuring no one left the event dry!

A special shoutout to the brilliant sports who took part: Headteacher Mr Evans, Mr Jepson, Mr Whittaker, Mr Riley, Mr Guatella, Mr Ravenscroft, Mrs Stones, Mr McNulty, Mr Hubball, Mr Garry, Mr Brighouse, Mrs Heyes, and Mr Farrer. Their bravery (and drenched uniforms!) made the event even more memorable.

The event was not only a brilliant way to have fun but also a fantastic opportunity to raise money for Red Nose Day, supporting projects that change lives across the UK and beyond.

A huge thank you to all the staff who volunteered (and got soaked!) and to every student who took part. Your generosity and enthusiasm made the event a brilliant success!
