We are thrilled to announce the success achieved by our dedicated students in the 2023 GCSE examinations. Students have achieved excellent results that reflect their hard work and commitment.

Christina Kane, Deputy Headteacher, expressed her pride in the students stating, "We are incredibly proud of the achievements of all of our students who have shown great resilience and determination to succeed. We mustn’t forget that this cohort of students has faced major disruptions to their education and grading has been adjusted this year to be more in line with 2019 outcomes, so our students have achieved superb results."

Furthermore, she highlighted, "Despite the drop in higher grades nationally, the Class of 2023 has really excelled, and their achievements will enable them to successfully progress to the next stage of their education. We are also delighted that so many of our students have chosen to continue their studies in our sixth form, Barrow Hall College."

Several students have achieved outstanding individual results. Among them are:

Heather Russell excelled in all her subjects with 9’s across the board in her 11 subjects. She is continuing her studies at Barrow Hall College to study Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics.

Pok Him Shing was awarded an amazing nine grade 9’s and will go on to study Maths, Further Maths and Physics at St John Deane’s College.

Ruby Hilton is celebrating an excellent set of results with six grade 9’s, two 8’s and two 7’s and will study Maths, English and French at Barrow Hall College.

These results are just a small snapshot of individual accomplishments which are a testament to the students hard work. Many of our students have received fantastic results across the curriculum and are progressing onto varied pathways.

Gary Evans, Headteacher, extended his congratulations to all students, remarking, "I would like to offer my sincere congratulations to the class of 2023 and the team of dedicated staff and supportive parents and carers who have guided them through the last five years. We wish our young people every success for the future."

The school looks forward to following their students journeys as they progress to the next phase of their education.
