This morning, Great Sankey High School was bursting with excitement, laughter and mystery as our Year 7 students were treated to an unforgettable live event – The Masked Singer: Great Sankey Edition! It was a truly spectacular show that had students on the edge of their seats, cheering, dancing, and singing along as a line-up of costumed staff members took to the stage to perform in disguise.

The hall was filled with an incredible atmosphere from the very beginning. As the music blared and the lights flashed, the students were completely captivated – and very loud! The energy in the room was electric, with students showing massive support for every act, chanting along and creating an unforgettable buzz.

Our fabulous panel of judges – Mr Evans, Mrs Cosgrove, Mrs Masher and the famously hard-to-impress Mr McCann (aka “Mr Grumpy”) – were ready to rate the mystery singers. Mr McCann lived up to his nickname, receiving a chorus of boos and playful jeers from the audience every time he reached for the microphone! A huge shoutout to our wonderful presenter and organiser, Miss Mullin, whose energy, humour and behind-the-scenes magic brought the entire show to life!

Each of the six masked performers brought their A-game, complete with flamboyant costumes, dramatic entrances and carefully chosen songs designed to get the crowd going. Here’s a rundown of the amazing acts:

  • Judicorn – A sparkling unicorn with a powerful voice, singing Try Everything by Shakira.
  • Franken Furter – A Frankenstein twist on a cult classic, hyping up the crowd with Tequila by The Champs.
  • Dino Girl – A dino-themed delight who tore up the stage with Mr Brightside by The Killers.
  • Pink Pony – A pastel powerhouse who delivered a show-stopping performance of Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan.
  • Potty Parrot – A vibrant and cheeky parrot who took on a bold mash-up of APT and Bruno Mars hits.
  • Cringy Crimbo – A regal yet ridiculous character who entertained with a theatrical rendition of You’ll Be Back from Hamilton.
  •

Every act was met with deafening cheers and rapturous applause – and while their identities remained a mystery, speculation in the audience was rife!

While the judges deliberated over the impossible task of ranking the acts, the entertainment didn’t stop. Year 7 student Koby stepped into the spotlight and blew the audience away with a phenomenal West End number. His talent, stage presence and professionalism had the entire audience on their feet – a true show-stealer.

Just when we thought the excitement had peaked, another surprise guest took to the stage – The Eagle! With a high-energy performance that sent the crowd into a frenzy, The Eagle proved to be a worthy addition to an already unforgettable morning.

Then came the moment everyone was waiting for – the unmasking of our performers and the final results!
