Last night, Great Sankey High School proudly hosted our annual Sports Awards, a special evening dedicated to recognising the incredible sporting achievements of our students over the past academic year. It was fantastic to welcome so many students, parents, and staff to celebrate together, reflecting on a year filled with dedication, skill, and memorable moments in sport.

 

The evening highlighted both individual and team successes, with Players of the Year announced for each year group:

 

  • Year 7: Ewan McDonough
  • Year 8: Amelie McGhee
  • Year 9: Romeo Welsh
  • Year 10: Thea Irwin

 

 

These awards recognised not only outstanding ability but also commitment, teamwork, and sportsmanship both on and off the field.

 

The ceremony then moved on to our most prestigious awards of the night: Team of the Year and Sankey Sports Personality of the Year.

 

  • Team of the Year: Year 7 Jr NBA Western Conference Champions – celebrated for their remarkable teamwork, determination, and championship-winning performances.

 

  • Sankey Sports Personality of the Year: Theo Pitt – recognised for exceptional talent, leadership, and dedication across a range of sporting activities.

 

Congratulations to all our winners and every student who has contributed to an outstanding year of sport at Great Sankey High School. Your hard work, passion, and sportsmanship continue to inspire everyone in our school community, and we look forward to another exciting year ahead!
