Students Shine at Great Sankey High School Sports Days

Students from Years 7 to 10 enjoyed two fantastic days of sporting action as Great Sankey High School hosted its annual Sports Days across Monday and Tuesday.
The event brought together students from every form to compete in a wide range of activities, earning valuable points for their forms while demonstrating teamwork, determination and school spirit.
The morning sessions featured an exciting carousel of interform activities, including football, kick rounders and dodgeball. Every student had the opportunity to represent their form, creating a brilliant atmosphere of friendly competition and encouragement throughout the event.
Following lunch, attention turned to the athletics programme, with students competing in a range of track events including the 100m, 200m, 800m and relay races. Due to the high temperatures, some events were adjusted and rescheduled to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants. We would like to thank all students for their understanding and flexibility, which helped the event run smoothly.
Across both days, students showed outstanding effort, resilience and sportsmanship, whether they were competing on the field or cheering on their classmates from the sidelines. It was fantastic to see so many students supporting one another and taking pride in representing their forms.
Congratulations to our 2026 Interform Sports Day champions:
