Two Fantastic Days Welcoming Our New Year 7 Pupils

This week, we were delighted to welcome our new Year 7 pupils for two special transition days as they prepare to begin their secondary school journey with us in September.
Day 1 began with a warm introduction in Barrow Hall Theatre, where Mrs Masher greeted pupils and families and introduced the Year Team and form tutors who will be supporting them throughout the year. Pupils then spent time in their form groups taking part in a range of ice-breaker activities to help them get to know their classmates and start building new friendships.
After a guided tour of the school, everyone had the opportunity to sample a variety of lessons. From science experiments to creative activities, pupils were able to experience what learning looks like across different subjects and get a feel for life at secondary school.
Day 2 started once again in Barrow Hall Theatre, with a debrief and a chance to reflect on the first day. Pupils then headed off to explore even more lessons, including Computer Science, Food Technology, Maths and English. Staff were impressed to see how much more settled and confident everyone was, with many pupils quickly finding their way around and getting stuck into activities with enthusiasm.
To round off the two days, everyone gathered together in Barrow Hall Theatre for a final review. The Year Team answered any remaining questions and shared how proud they were of how well the pupils had embraced this important step.
It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces and such positivity over the two days. We hope this experience has helped all our new Year 7s feel more prepared, reassured and excited for September.
We look forward to welcoming them as full members of our school community very soon!
